My style of photography
I still find weddings fun to photograph. That’s after thirteen years of it. Every wedding is different and presents different challenges. I know that on any wedding day, I will be combining the skills of a photojournalist,a portrait, fashion and still life photographer. I have found my own style of photography which appeals to my clients – and me! A mixture of unobtrusive photojournalism and well directed posed shots.
It’s all in the planning
My approach to each wedding involves a great deal of necessary planning and the more I put into it, the better the end result. At our initial meeting here at my studio in Bournemouth, I go through every aspect of the day as each client has a specific schedule as well as a preferred style of photography, often with specific photos in mind. I listen to you and what you want-that’s the most important thing. At the end of the day, I’m providing a service so I want to make sure you’re happy with it.

On The Wedding Day
On the day, I will photograph your wedding in a style which reflects your own individual personalities hopefully creating a set of photographs unique to you.I also work in a relaxed way as I don’t want to cause you any stress and hopefully we will have some fun along the way.
The last part of the whole process is the editing of your images to make them look as fantastic as possible. Once you’ve received your images and chosen your favourites, I will design your wedding album in a way which looks really appealing. The design is then sent to you at which point, any changes should they be required, can be made. Once you receive the album you will I’m sure be delighted plus you will now of course have something really special to help you remember your big day.
A Word of Warning
Today, almost everyone has a digital camera but not many people know how to use them properly or know anything about posing and lighting etc. It’s definitely worth hiring a professional to produce a decent set of images. In the years ahead your photos will the one permanent reminder of the day so don’t cut costs by asking a friend to take them as he probably won’t have the skills or experience to do a good job.
‘Try Before You Buy’
There is always an element of stress with even the best organised wedding and I believe it important that the bride and groom arrive at their wedding day feeling comfortable and confident in their choice of photographer.
So I arrange a meeting at an appropriate venue where the bride and groom and I get together. and I will explain how I approach the wedding photography and they can talk to me about what is important to them. This is before any booking as made.
During the course of this they will know if they are happy with my approach and are going to feel comfortable on the day and it makes the decision process easier for them. It means that when a bride and groom book me for their special day they do so in the knowledge that they are going to be at ease with nothing to worry about.
I have worked at many venues across the South of England and especially in Bournemouth, Poole, The New Forest and London such as The Miramar, The Chine,The Orchid, The Royal Bath, Parley Manor, Highcliffe Marriott, Sandbanks Hotel, The Haven, Rhinefield House, Chewton Glen, The Tithe Barn Petersfield, Harbour Heights, Lord Bute, Highcliffe Castle, Lulworth Castle, Athelhampton House, Italian Villa at Compton Acres, New Place Management Centre, Langrish House.
